Market reports
One report per data status. A published report is not updated — a report with a month in its title whose figures later change would be a trap.
- August 2026 Jan–Aug · 55’986 Registrations with a plug
- July 2026 Jan–Jul · 49’286 Registrations with a plug
The latest report in figures
August 2026 · Jan–Aug
- 55’986 Registrations with a charging port
- 37’226 of which fully electric
- 36,9 % share of the total passenger car market
- +21 % against the same period last year
- 320 models analysed individually
What every report contains
- The totals for the period: vehicles with a charging port, of which fully electric, share of the total market and the change against the previous year.
- The ten most registered brands, with registrations, market share and number of models.
- The twenty most registered models, with powertrain and country of origin.
- The biggest gains and losses year on year — from 50 registrations upwards only, because 2 to 6 vehicles is +200 per cent and says nothing.
- The monthly course of the plug-in share, as a table and as an image.
- The calculation: which vehicles are counted, which are not, and where the figures come from.
A published report is never updated
A report’s address carries its data status. If the figures beneath it changed later, every link set to it would be a trap: anyone citing «55’986 vehicles, as of August 2026» must still find that figure at that address a year from now.
New data therefore means a new report at a new address. If the presentation changes later, all reports change with it — the figures in them do not, because they sit in the archived data extract and not in the running file.
Citing and reusing
Every report comes with the data extract it is calculated from — as CSV and as JSON, one record per model with monthly columns. The CSV is semicolon separated, because Excel in a German-language environment puts a comma CSV into a single column. The citation note is in the file header, as a field in the JSON.
