What the figures do not say

Private chargers in garages and at houses are not recorded centrally anywhere and are missing here. Most electric cars charge there.
No reported charging point does not mean there is none: an operator who does not report its charger to the SFOE is missing from the file.
Charging sessions are a lower bound. We count the change from free to occupied between two readings; a session shorter than three minutes is missed.
Occupancy counts how often a charging point was reported as occupied. A car that stays parked after charging counts as occupied.
