Moosseedorf: charging stations and electric cars
Electric cars
For Moosseedorf, the FSO counts 125 electric cars and 52 plug-in hybrids among 2’512 passenger cars (as of 2025). That is 5,0 % electric cars, against a Swiss average of 5,2 %. A year earlier there were 103. In 2025, 26 electric cars were newly registered, 21,5 % of all new passenger cars. 29,7 % of the passenger cars are registered to companies. Company fleets shift the share because they buy differently from private households.
Public charging points
For Moosseedorf, the SFOE lists 14 public charging points at 4 locations, 10 of them with direct current (as of 26.10.2026). There are 8,9 electric cars per charging point, 12,4 across Switzerland.
Occupancy in the week 19.–25.10.2026
On average, a charging point was occupied 20,3 % of the time, 10,9 % across Switzerland. The busiest hour was 12:00 with 52,4 % occupancy. We counted at least 397 charging sessions, 4,1 per charging point and day. Every charging point was used at least once during the week. One charging point was out of service for at least 3 days in a row.
Charging at home
Charging at home for Moosseedorf costs 29,81 Rp./kWh energy price at the local grid operator plus a basic charge of CHF 48 a year (tariff 2026). For 100 km that is about CHF 5.76 plus VAT, calculated with 18 kWh consumption and 6,9 % charging loss at the wallbox. For 2027, 27,91 Rp./kWh has been reported. At public charging points the operator’s price applies, not the grid operator’s tariff. The “Charging” tab shows what operators report.

Where the figures come from
- Electric cars: FSO, road vehicle stock by municipality, as of 2025, and new registrations 2025. Counted by the keeper’s address, so company cars are included. We do not show figures under 5.
- Charging points: SFOE, charging stations for electric cars (ich-tanke-strom.ch), daily export of 26.10.2026. The municipality follows from the coordinate and swisstopo’s municipal boundaries (swissBOUNDARIES3D).
- Occupancy: our own measurement from the SFOE status reports, every 3 minutes, week 19.–25.10.2026. The figures are openly available at /ladenetz-gemeinden.json.
- Electricity tariff: ElCom, tariffs reported by the distribution system operators, standard product, profile H5 (7’500 kWh a year, house with an electric car), excluding VAT.
What the figures do not say
- Private chargers in garages and at houses are not recorded centrally anywhere and are missing here. Most electric cars charge there.
- No reported charging point does not mean there is none: an operator who does not report its charger to the SFOE is missing from the file.
- Charging sessions are a lower bound. We count the change from free to occupied between two readings; a session shorter than three minutes is missed.
- Occupancy counts how often a charging point was reported as occupied. A car that stays parked after charging counts as occupied.
