Which electric car do I get for 30’000 francs?

Up to 30’000 francs, the table lists 15 versions. The cheapest electric car with a documented list price is the Dacia Spring at CHF 16’790 with 246 km WLTP range. Going up to 40’000 francs adds 22 more versions, mostly with a much larger battery. Each version is placed by its own list price.

Electric cars up to CHF 30’000

The cheapest electric cars with a documented Swiss list price. In this band they are almost exclusively small and city cars with ranges between about 250 and 420 km.

Electric cars from CHF 30’001 to 40’000

This is where the compact models and the larger batteries of the small cars sit. If a model appears in both bands, this is the version with the larger battery.

Electric cars above CHF 40’000

This band is not complete. It shows the versions we recorded for the most registered models and for the budget bands, not every electric car above 40’000 francs.

How to read the table

• List price: the price in the Swiss importer’s price list or configurator, including VAT. An offer price is shown below it, with its end date if the page gives one, and is not used in the calculation.
• Two versions per model: the cheapest version of all and the cheapest one with the largest battery. If there is only one battery, there is one row.
• Range: the WLTP range as worded by the importer. If it gives a range, both ends are shown. In winter and on the motorway the range is shorter.
• CHF per km of range: what one kilometre of range costs at purchase. The figure rewards large batteries and says nothing about consumption, charging power or residual value.
• Not included: discounts, dealer prices, insurance, taxes and electricity. What an electric car costs over the years is calculated by the My EV tab with your own figures.

What the table is missing

For 29 models we could not read a list price: the importers’ pages block access, show the price only in the configurator or contradict themselves. We are asking them and will add the prices once they are documented.

Affected brands include: Audi, BMW, BYD, Citroën, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Leapmotor, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Opel, Peugeot, Polestar, smart, Smart, Tesla, Volkswagen.
